A FairTrade Church
To become a Fairtrade church we have committed to:
- Using Fairtrade tea and coffee for all meetings for which we have responsibility and after services.
- Moving forward on using other Fairtrade products (such as sugar, biscuits and fruit)
- Promoting Fairtrade during Fairtrade Fortnight and during the year through events, worship and other activities whenever possible.
By pledging this, we have been declared a Fairtrade Church by the Fairtrade Foundation joining many other churches and places around the country. One on-going way that we can all help is by buying Fairtrade goods marked with the Fairtrade symbol. This guarantees that the people who actually grew the crops are paid a fair living wage for them.
